Having Lived in London for a number of years he decided to move back to St Lucia as a preacher man with Figaro his only son by his side playing drums all over St Lucia at age of 9.
After leaving school Figaro joined the Royal St Lucia Police Band and was given the French horn as his permanent instrument, a decision that changed his musical career forever, because he hated it.
Figaro then decided to start singing as a way of taking centre stage which then allowed him to take part in the Dennery calypso competition.
In 1982 he sang for the first time and placed 2nd beaten by the veteran calypsonian Short Pants, but Figaro then went on to win the crown in 83, 84 and 1985 probably the only calypsonian to do so in Dennery.
Figaro then move to New York where he lived for over 15 years before moving back to London, while in New York he sang with several bands including performances on Eastern Parkway for many years during the Labour Day Festival, an event he really enjoyed. Figaro then had his first recording on an Album called Back to Back, which got some air play but nothing major, that did not stop him
Figaro also recorded with various other artist including Jaunty where he sang backup on We Shall Hop, after moving to London he then met Shawn a former member of the St Lucian band Reasons, that meeting was the start of something new, out of that meeting came the first album Party On of 12 songs of which Figaro wrote 10 of them and the other two were adapted from Sting - Every Breath You Take and Singer Man from an unknown Jamaican artist. Deridee Williams from St Lucia sang on both tracks laying down some really good vibes on Singer Man.
Figaro then met with Mugs, a very well known musician throughout St Lucia, New York and London, together they have released a total of four singles including the latest remix of Help Me Make Through The Night, click on the link above to listen, currently they are working on Figaro's second album which is due out sometime in 2009/2010.
